PCVE (Preventing & Countering Violent Extremism)

Violent extremism threatens peace, security, and development in Somalia. At YIA Baidoa, we believe that empowering youth and communities with knowledge, opportunities, and resilience is the most effective way to counter the drivers of extremism. Our PCVE initiatives focus on prevention through education, dialogue, and inclusion.

Our Focus

  • Youth Empowerment: Creating positive alternatives for young people through education, skills, and livelihoods.

  • Community Dialogue: Promoting peacebuilding, tolerance, and inter-community trust.

  • Awareness Campaigns: Raising awareness on the risks of extremism and promoting peaceful coexistence.

  • Rehabilitation & Reintegration: Supporting individuals affected by extremism to rejoin society positively.

  • Partnerships: Working with government, NGOs, and local leaders to strengthen prevention strategies.
