Access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene is essential for health, dignity, and development. YIA Baidoa works to improve WASH services across South West Somalia, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities. Our programs aim to reduce waterborne diseases, promote hygiene practices, and ensure sustainable water and sanitation solutions.

Our Focus

• Safe Water Access
  Providing clean and safe drinking water through borehole rehabilitation, water trucking, and construction of sustainable water sources.
• Sanitation Facilities
  Improving community health through the construction of gender-sensitive latrines and sanitation infrastructure in schools, health centers, and IDP camps.
• Hygiene Promotion
  Raising awareness and changing behaviors through hygiene education campaigns, handwashing initiatives, and distribution of hygiene kits.
• Community-Led Solutions
  Empowering communities to manage their own WASH systems through training, local committees, and inclusive participation.
• Emergency WASH Response
  Delivering rapid WASH support in times of crisis, including drought, displacement, and disease outbreaks.
